This superb old-time tune comes from the repertoire of Charlie Poole and his North Carolina Ramblers who recorded it in 1929 (Columbia 15519-D). One of Poole’s more humorous love songs, it’s given an excellent reading by the band. The original version can be heard on County LP 505 for the interested listener.
